END TROPHY HUNTING OF ARIZONA'S WILD CATS
Plan B is against all trophy hunting which is why we support this initiative from our friends at Arizonans for Wildlife. As you may have heard, Arizonans for Wildlife recently launched a ballot initiative campaign to protect mountain lions, bobcats and other wild cats in Arizona. This is a broad coalition of local and national partners.
Arizonans for Wildlife is working to protect our state’s wild cats from extreme cruelty by prohibiting the trophy hunting and trapping of mountain lions, bobcats, ocelots, jaguars and lynx. If the ballot initiative is successful, it will allow the public to vote and decide if trophy hunting wild cats should be prohibited on the November 2018 ballot. The measure includes reasonable exemptions for killing a wild cat if an individual’s personal safety is threatened and for the removal of wild cats if livestock or property is targeted. Activities by researchers, zoos, rehabilitation facilities, and wildlife managers or other purposes are also exempt as authorized by law.
