One of the events at Sedona Wolf Week was a Co-Existence panel comprised of representatives from Arizona Game and Fish, Arizona Department of Agriculture, the Blackfoot Challenge, The Mexican Gray Wolf Livestock Loss Council and Wolves of the Rockies. The discussion was provocative and at times passionately debated. A very positive result has begun to emerge from the panel.
Recently, Plan B was contacted by the Arizona Department of Agriculture about the possibility of collaborating on a program for ranchers that teaches them non-lethal methods for dealing with predators, specifically wolves. Should it move forward we will provide updates on this progressive program. Even though this is only in the idea stage, for a first-year event, this positive step already surpasses one of our measures of success.
This is a major step forward and possibly one of the most important successes of the event.
